Scattered thunderstorms, some of which were severe, impacted the region this evening. One storm in particular which moved through Harrisburg around 7:45 PM contained damaging winds, ping-pong ball sized hail, and led to localized flash flooding. Meanwhile, some of the Midstate didn't see a drop of rain this evening. This, while some spots received upwards of half an inch of rain from these storms. Temperatures will fall through the 60s before hitting a crisper mid 50s range overnight. Clouds will clear the area tomorrow morning, and a mainly sunny day is expected with seasonable temperatures in the mid to upper 70s. Overall, another generally dry stretch is anticipated for the upcoming work week. While not great news on a drought front, one big benefit to the dryness is outdoor comfort and security of plans. The building of an upper level trough to our east heading into the middle of next week brings the chance for a stray light rain shower at best, but no noteworthy or drought-relieving rain is expected. High temperatures will stabilize in the upper 70s to near 80 next week, with slightly warmer conditions possible heading into next weekend. Overall, very pleasant weather is on tap for the first full week of June! Most of the remaining precipitation this evening will taper by midnight. Temperatures will fall through the 60s before hitting a crisper mid 50s range overnight. Looking ahead the one big benefit to the dryness is outdoor comfort and security of plans. The building of an upper level trough heading into the mid part of next week brings some chance for the rogue shower, but dryness will be the prevailing condition across the viewing area over the next week. Certainly, the lack of rain is not ideal, but with highs stabilizing in the upper 70s to near 80 next week, one could not imagine better outdoor weather to start June.
